24/7 Towing in The Loop, Chicago
The Loop is the hardest square mile in Chicagoland to tow a car out of, and it is where we get called most often. Between the L structure overhead, one-way grids, permanent construction lanes on Wacker and loading zones that turn into tow zones at 4 p.m., a truck that shows up without knowing the block loses twenty minutes just finding a place to hook up.

We dispatch downtown around the clock. Most Loop calls are handled by a wheel-lift wrecker under six and a half feet tall, because the vehicle is almost never on the street — it is on P3 of a garage on Wabash, in a Millennium Park deck, or wedged in a service bay behind a Michigan Avenue tower. If your car is on the surface, a flatbed comes instead.
What we know about towing downtown
Clearance is the whole game here. Self-park decks under the Loop's older towers were built for 1960s sedans, and posted heights of 6'0" to 6'6" are common — a standard flatbed carrier is over eleven feet tall and physically cannot enter. Tell dispatch the height on the yellow bar at the garage entrance and the right truck gets assigned the first time instead of the second.
Street work matters too. Lower Wacker and Lower Michigan are fast when you know the ramps and a maze when you don't; a disabled car on Lower Wacker needs a driver who knows which ramp exits toward Columbus and which dead-ends at a dock. Add the Kennedy and Eisenhower merges at Congress, the bridges over the river lifting on summer weekends, and rush-hour turn restrictions on State and Dearborn, and route knowledge is worth more than raw distance from the yard.
The other Loop pattern is the vehicle that has already been relocated. Cars parked on rush-hour tow-away routes along Michigan, Columbus and Wacker get moved by the city, not by us — we cannot release those. What we can do is pick your car up from the pound once it is released and take it to your mechanic or your building.

Can you get my car out of a Loop parking garage?
Yes — that is most of what we do downtown. We run wheel-lift wreckers under 6'6" tall specifically for Loop and River North decks. Read us the clearance height posted at the garage entrance when you call and we assign a truck that fits on the first attempt.
My car was towed off Michigan Avenue during rush hour. Can you get it back?
If the City of Chicago relocated or impounded it, only the city auto pound can release it to you — no private company can. Once it is released we will tow it from the pound to your home, building or repair shop.
How long does a tow take in the Loop at 5 p.m.?
Plan on 25–40 minutes for arrival even though the yard is close. Downtown congestion, bridge lifts and one-way routing cost more time than mileage does. Dispatch gives you a real number on the call rather than an optimistic one.
